Letter from your President
Greetings MSFCCA Members!
My name is Ruby Daniels and I am the newly appointed President of MSFCCA, effective March 10, 2019. I live in Howard County and have previously served in leadership positions in the field of ECE in Maryland. I was the MSFCCA Vice President of Education, the President of the Howard County Family Child Care Association, the Vice President of Education for the Howard County Family Child Care Association, and the Director of Mentoring for the Howard County Family Child Care Association.
I recently became involved with MSFCCA when I heard that the local association Directors no longer had voting positions on the Board of Directors. This had been the structure of MSFCCA for many years and allowed us to better serve the membership when their voices were at the table. I am happy to say that when I was appointed on March 10, 2019, the newly elected Board of Directors voted to reinstate the local association Directors and that process will be completed at the Elections in July 2019.
It is imperative that MSFCCA remain a strong voice for Registered Family Child Care in Maryland. Changing Policy and Regulatory matters are an important part of our work as well as promoting QUALITY in all child care programs. Recently we have submitted testimony in the 2019 Legislative Session on behalf of our members and comments on proposed regulation changes that we hope will lead to positive outcomes for providers. Please join us for our monthly membership conference calls as well on the second Sunday of each month at 7:00.
Family Child Care is our livelihood and our chosen careers, and with your help we will continue to make a positive impact on the profession.
BE THE VOICE OF FAMILY CHILD CARE,
SPEAK UP AND YOU WILL BE HEARD,
BE A PART OF MSFCCA.
